Support the People’s Blockade Major Event Application!

We need your help to secure council approval for a major, peaceful, family-friendly climate event happening in Newcastle later this year. Your short submisison could be the difference in helping us secure permission to use local public spaces for this years blockade.

What should I write in my submission?

Be respectful, brief, and focused on local benefits. Avoid political messaging. You can write your own comment or use one of these:

• “This event has been well-organised in the past and brings our community together.”

• “I’m excited to take my kids to the free activities and live music.”

• “Friends are visiting from out of town and will book accomodation here.”

• “It’s a safe, peaceful, community-focused event that supports climate awareness.”

• “I’ve been to the previous Rising Tide events. I bring my grandchildren. The events are incredibly well organised and joyous. I plan to attend again this year.”
