Ready to be part of Rising Tide’s next wave of action? Come build your skills, confidence, and connection through this interactive introduction to nonviolent direct action (NVDA).
Nonviolence is at the heart of Rising Tide’s strategy and culture, and NVDA is about much more than arrest or civil disobedience. It includes a wide range of actions, roles, and ways to contribute. As one of Rising Tide’s core principles reminds us: “We are safe and nonviolent.” Building the skills to stay grounded, connected, and nonviolent is important for all of us.
Together, we’ll explore:
-
Why nonviolence is central to Rising Tide’s approach
-
How to prepare for challenging situations and support each other under pressure
-
How to respond to police if you have to interact with them
-
The many different roles in NVDA — including vital roles for people not risking arrest
Whether you’re brand new or wanting to deepen your involvement, you’re warmly invited. Come learn, connect, and help strengthen our movement together
The Zoom link for the training will be emailed to you after you register.
