Join us at Pachamama House in Hamilton for a community dinner and screening of the inspiring doco, “Bringing Down A Dictator”.
The film is a 56-minute documentary about the nonviolent defeat of brutal Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in the '90's. It focuses on the student-led Otpor! (‘resistance’) movement, who attacked the regime with ridicule, rock music, and a willingness to be arrested.
Film screening is free. Dinner by $5 suggested donation.
- 5:15pm: Dinner served early (veggie with vegan and GF options)
- 6:00pm: Film screening.
- 7pm: Optional discussion about how we can recreate these dynamics in Newcastle as we campaign for a post-coal future.
- 7:15: home time!
Accessibility: unfortunately the space where the film will be screened is not accessible (it is up about 10-15 stairs).
