Rising Tide protestors disrupt private Liberal fundraiser, asking Dutton about the cost of nuclear

CANBERRA - Last night, just hours after the election was called, two Rising Tide protestors, John and Cate, snuck into the private Liberal Party fundraiser in Canberra and interrupted Peter Dutton's speech.

Canberra Grandparent John Wurcker yelled at Dutton, "Why are you lying to the Australian people about the cost of nuclear?" He was dragged out by security as the audience attempted to drown him out with clapping a jeering.

John Wurcker who has worked for firms such as PriceWaterhouse and GHD, said: “The Coalition’s nuclear scheme is in stark contrast to traditional conservative values of free markets. Even Liberal Party members are campaigning against their own party, because they see how ridiculous it is to be spending $600bn on a government-owned energy scheme that will actually put energy prices up.

“This makes absolutely no ­financial sense and it won’t do anything to fix the cost of living crisis or the climate crisis.”
