Anti Coal Seam Gas Speech

Today Rising Tide member Steven Denshire addressed a crowd of anti-coal seam gas protestors in Maitland at the National Day of Action Against Coal Seam Gas. Below and attached is a copy of the speech.

G'day Folks,

Rising Tide would like to pay respect to the original inhabitants of this land on which we stand – the land of the Wonnarua Plains Clan. We recognise that this land was taken and there was no Treaty. We apologise for the treatment of the land and the Indigenous Peoples ever since invasion. Rising Tide would also like to express disrespect to the government for the way it has, and continues, to trash our environment and repress indigenous cultures.
