Third-World Case: Research Paper on Renewable Energy

With global warming threatening planet Earth, renewable energy may be used by millions in the near future. It seems to be reality in developed countries, but what about in developing countries?

A number of cities and towns in Europe have embraced it. Though several areas in Africa and Asia have used renewable energy, it remains to be seen if more people from Third World countries will use it as well.

More than one research paper have discussed the pros and cons of renewable energy. Thought the advantages outweighs the disadvantages, one crucial factor is the economics - can developing countries afford science and technology?

Consider space industry. Only First World nations like the U.S. and Japan have the finances to build spacecrafts and do outer space missions. And with space tourism just around the corner, can we envision a Third World citizen being able to pay such a trip? Perhaps not in a lifetime (or two). More than one research paper discuss this in great detail, but that's another subject matter.

It's not different from renewable energy. Developed countries are rich enough to sustain this for a long time, and their situation is stable such that nothing can jeopardize it. It's not the case with developing countries especially in some conflict-torn regions in Africa.

Another thing is if governments (of Third World countries) have the will to make its citizens use renewable energy in the long run. This is one more good topic for a research paper.

Whatever topic college students choose, it'll be anything but dull.
