Would You Trade Your Water for Coal?
Event date/time:
20 May 2009 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Wednesday 20th May - Public Forum
6.30pm, Sydney Mechanics School of Arts, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney
- convened by the Colong Foundation for Wilderness
For years, Government has stood by while coal miners cracked stream beds.
Our water catchments are draining away. Now even higher impact mining
proposals are coming forward.
In a drought-filled country, the little water we have for a growing
metropolis should not be jeopardised by coal mining.
Local experts will explain how coal mining in catchments affects you.
Speakers:
Dr Ann Young (Geomorphologist)
Dave Burgess (Total Environment Centre) + Y O U!
