New Coal Plants in NSW
Background
In November 2004 the NSW Government released a Green Paper on the future of their energy policy. Green Papers are discussion papers, aimed at initiating a process of public consultation before the release of a White Paper, which is a policy paper.
The Green Paper claims there is a need for more electricity generation and makes it clear that the government wants the private sector to fund this. It canvasses the possibility of a New Coal Fired Power Station
