Sydney street action - No new coal

Event date/time:
6 July 2010 - 7:00am

Action in support of No New Coal
7am sharp. Tuesday 6 July 2010
Sydney CBD

Meet at Martin Place between Elizabeth and Phillip Streets, then proceed to various intersections and outside train stations in the CBD

In coming weeks, NSW Cabinet will be asked to consider a proposal for a moratorium on new coal-fired power stations in the state.

We need to show Premier Kristina Keneally and her Cabinet that the community supports an end to polluting coal power and a just transition to a clean energy future.

Join the Nature Conservation Council of NSW and Greenpeace for a vibrant street action, holding No New Coal signs up at prominent intersections and outside major train stations in the CBD.

Let's catch the attention of peak hour commuters, get them signing our petition to the NSW Parliament and build momentum for an end to coal-fired power generation across our state.

This is a great opportunity to kick-start the clean, green economy of the future.

Register here so we can keep in touch about details and make sure we're on track for a great event.

Show Cabinet members Premier Kristina Keneally and Ministers Sartor and Lynch that there is strong community support for an end to coal-fired power generation by sending our cyberaction today .
