About us. Rising Tide Australia is a grassroots Newcastle group taking action against the causes of anthropogenic climate change and for equitable, just, effective, and sustainable solutions to the crisis. We are committed to the principals of Non-violent Direct Action. We are part of the global Rising Tide climate justice movement. We live in the biggest coal port in the cosmos.

I wish you guys would find something useful to do for society.
The burning of coal and emitting CO2 to the atmosphere is a good thing and fertilizes the plants and trees which grow faster at higher levels of CO2.
CO2 as a greenhouse gas is pretty insignificant compared to water vapour and has no measureable effect on global warming, only computer modellers think so. There has been NO measureable global warming for the last decade, and what might be measured (0.7 C) over the last 100 years is hardly worth worrying about, and is almost swamped by the margin of error (+/- 0.5 C).
Why dont you guys get real and get off your global warming bandwagons. The last eco-terroist I challenged said to me "if you can make money by selling bullshit why not do so!"
Cheers

There is plenty of scope for ignoramuses to dispute the measurable trends of world climates. That is NOT the point.
All science is hypothesis. That is to say, it is a rational attempt to resolve uncertainty. In the case of global warming, the real problem is one of risk and its analysis.
If the world succeeds in creating low carbon dioxide emmissions and the global warming hypothesis turns out to be wrong, then the outcomes would include oil reserves lasting for longer than 100 years and coal reserves for even longer. The penalty for being wrong could even turn out to be a benefit.
On the other hand, if the global warming hypothesis is discounted while the world goes on spewing out greenhouse gases at increasing rates, but, the hypothesis turns out to substantially correct, then the penalties are catastrophic, with few off-setting benefits.
Most people realise this. It is the same sort of logic they use to walk across a road. If you look both ways and see nothing you have wasted the effort involved in looking, but you survive. If you don't look you save energy, but you risk a catastrophic outcome.

Hi mate,
I know you could find me one or two scientists in the world who would agree with what you just wrote, but you could also find a handful that think the AIDS virus is a hoax.
You won't find any articles in peer-reviewed science literature, however, that support your views. What you will find in the peer-reviewed literature is an emerging clarity that if we don't stop burning fossil fuels very soon, we will wipe out the majority of life on earth, and have catastrophic impacts on every human society.
I challenge you to provide a peer-reviewed scientific article (not some marginal crack-pot in a regional university) that supports your views.
I love being involved ...thanks Rising Tide...hope you post the pics with the Mayor-What a beauty!I have sent you some pics of my friend in the park& signs with the rubber stamp! We hope to see them soon too,Thanks for your enthusiasm& involvement!!!
